Our Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a 2 day course providing professionals in moderate-risk workplaces with the essential first aid knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to support adult casualties. This qualification prepares candidates to assess incidents accurately, respond safely and effectively, deliver high-quality first aid, maintain a safe working environment, and comply with workplace first aid safety standards.
Unit 1
Understand the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
Understand how to access an incident
Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
Be able to manage a casualty who is choking
Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
Be able to manage a casualty with minor injuries
Unit 2
Be able to conduct a secondary survey
Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Be able to provide first aid to casualty suspected head and spinal injuries
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with burns or scalds
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
Assessment methods will include Coursework, E-assessment, Portfolio of Evidence and will involve 21 Hours Guided Learning plus home study.
The group size will not exceed 8 candidates. (Courses will comply with current Covid-19 Government guidelines).
